Waaayyy back at Labor Day Weekend, I had the pleasure of attending the annual Chief Blackhawk Vintage Motorcycle Rally and Swap Meet in Davenport, Iowa. I have to say, it was an absolute joy. It was like being at a motorcycle museum, except people are actually riding the bikes around, and you can pretty much buy any of them… if you’ve got plenty of cash. Seriously, if you love vintage bikes, this event is pure heaven. Rare motorcycles and parts, vintage flat track racing, cold beer, and a horde of motorcycle enthusiasts. The sheer number of bikes and vendors is staggering. I over heard someone saying that they walked the entire field of vendors, and by the end of it, they had paced over four and half miles! I have to admit that I feel somewhat ashamed to have lived an hour and half away from this old motorcycle mecca, and am just now getting around to attending it. I can tell you, I won’t miss it again. If you’re in the Midwest next Labor Day Weekend, I’d strongly recommend you check it out. Until then, give a gander to the video I’ve put together below, as well as some of my favorite photos from the event. If you’d like, you can view the whole album here.
